Mixing cultures in a restaurant space — Le Pop Up des Cuistots, PARIS, France.
How can different cultures coexist in the same restaurant space, engaging a contemporary language of friendly cohabitation? Can this logic be present in an avant garde art space? A Pop Up restaurant for a catering business hiring refugee chefs from Iran, Nepal, Chechnya, Syria, Ethiopia, Afghanistan and more. Inspired by how modern architecture tried to adapt to different cultural environments, the paintings on the walls were taken from the alphabets of the chef’s languages.
Created in collaboration with Martin Dymensztein, and the design thinking consultancy of Eugena Ossi.
AREA: 100m2
CLIENT : LES CUISTOTS MIGRATEURS
MATERIALS : Valchromat wood fibre panels, paint.
